The arrest was made on Monday, Sept. 30 just before 11 p.m., when authorities pulled over a stolen car in New Rochelle near the intersection of Huguenot Street and Division Street, New Rochelle Police Captain J. Collins Coyne said on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The vehicle was soon found to be stolen out of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania earlier in the same day when the driver, identified as Bronx resident Christopher Tejada-Santiago, took it on a test drive, Coyne said.

Upon searching the car, officers found several credit cards and cell phones not belonging to Tejada-Santiago as well as a loaded ammunition magazine for a 9mm handgun. However, no gun was found, according to Coyne.

Tejada-Santiago was soon arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
